A Personal Note: When a Message Turned into a Milestone
While Satyadeep Gupta stands as one of India's most accomplished mountaineers, his journey has often been shadowed by the challenges of securing sponsorships. As Founder of the DMET Club, which has been managing Satya Sir's expeditions, I've witnessed firsthand the financial and logistical hurdles that accompany such ambitious endeavors. There have been moments of frustration, times when I questioned my own capabilities in supporting his dreams.
One evening, driven by hope, I reached out to Maneesh Pradhan Sir (Someone every DMETian reaches out to for anything and everything ), Managing Director – Global Dry Fleet at Synergy Marine Group, inquiring about the possibility of Synergy supporting Satya Sir.
To my astonishment, within an hour, Pradhan Sir responded affirmatively, orchestrating a ₹5 lakh felicitation for Satya Sir (I believe this quick decision making makes Synergy management so special)
As I pen this blog, tears well up, for there are gestures so profound that no amount of gratitude can suffice. This was one such act of unparalleled kindness.
Satyadeep Gupta: Scaling New Heights

Hailing from Puranpur, Uttar Pradesh, Satyadeep Sir's journey began at the Marine Engineering and Research Institute (MERI), Kolkata, from where he graduated in 2007. His maritime career saw him undertake multiple voyages with Synergy Marine Group, navigating the world's oceans with dedication and precision.
However, the call of the mountains beckoned. Transitioning from the engine room to the base camp, Satyadeep trained rigorously at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi, mastering both Basic and Advanced Mountaineering Courses. His mountaineering accolades are nothing short of legendary:
First person globally to summit Mt. Everest (8,849m) and Mt. Lhotse (8,516m) twice in a single season, achieving this feat within 6 days, 7 hours, and 31 minutes.
First Indian to traverse from Everest to Lhotse in a record 11 hours and 15 minutes.
Successful ascents of formidable peaks like Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Mt. Makalu (8,463m), and Mt. Annapurna (7,500m), among others.
These achievements are not just personal milestones but symbols of human endurance, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence.
