Reached Base Camp of Mount Lenin
The journey so far has been nothing short of amazing. This is my first visit to this part of the world, and it has been an eye-opening experience.
Our adventure began with a flight from India to Almaty, followed by a connection to Bishkek. We encountered a few initial hiccups with the airline staff at the Delhi airport regarding luggage weight and return flight arrangements, but once those issues were resolved, everything has gone smoothly.
Our time in Bishkek was highlighted by a delightful Indian dinner, which provided a comforting taste of home in a foreign land. After a brief overnight stay, we departed for Osh the next day on the 15th.
Osh is where we met the rest of our team, bringing our group to a total of eight members. We spent some time doing last-minute shopping, picking up essentials, and enjoying some delicious local fruits. I even managed to find a cool cap that will surely come in handy during our climb.
We set off from Osh after breakfast on the morning of the 16th at 10:00 hrs. The drive to base camp was filled with stunning landscapes, providing a visual feast of natural beauty. We arrived at base camp at 16:00 hrs, greeted by a well-established setup complete with excellent views and hearty food.
Moments from Mission Till Now
Our plan for the coming days includes an acclimatisation walk tomorrow to help our bodies adjust to the altitude. The day after, on the 18th, we will make our way to Camp 1. One of the unexpected perks of the base camp is the availability of Wi-Fi, which allows us to stay connected with the outside world and share our journey in real time.
